Week of November 2 - 6

Theme: Seasons/Weather

Activities for the week:
  • Review the letters we've learned so far in Handwriting.
  • Experiment with water, borax and a pipe cleaner to make a snowflake in Science.
  • Make a seasons mobile in Art.
  • Practice number recognition and counting in Math by counting out the correct number of raindrops in the puddle.
  • Play with the kitchen set and babies in Dramatic Play.
  • Explore and play with snow in the Sensory Table.
  • Discover ways we can share with one another in Religion.
  • Make a rain cloud and fog in a jar.
Other Information:

Wed., Nov. 4th - 8th grade pizza lunch - don't forget your money!

Fri., Nov. 6th - Appalachia Mass - we will attend with our 6th grade buddies.

Week of October 26 - 30

Theme: Halloween

Activities for the week:
  • We will learn the letter I in handwriting.
  • Stamp and count pumpkins, black cats and spiders in Math.
  • Finish our spider webs and spiders and make some Halloween foam crafts in Art.
  • Play with pumpkin playdough and Halloween cookie cutters.
  • Pretend to decorate, go trick or treating or have a Halloween party in Dramatic Play.
  • Play with rice and Halloween confetti in the Sensory Table.
  • Experiment with a pumpkin, golf tees and a hammer in Science.
  • Make a class spider web.
  • Listen to the story "Spookley the Square Pumpkin".

Wednesday, October 28th - 1st quarter report cards will be sent home in your child's folder. Please sign and return them as soon as possible.

Week of October 19 -23

Theme: Circus

Activities for the week:
  • We will listen to the story of "God's Promise" and discover ways we can care for each other in Religion.
  • Experiment with popcorn kernels in tap water and tonic water in Science. Observe, make predictions and ask questions.
  • Pretend to be a circus clown, a juggler or an animal trainer in Dramatic Play.
  • Play with circus animals and packing peanuts in the Sensory Table.
  • Listen to the story of Dumbo.
  • We will participate in our own circus stunts (tight rope walking, ball tricks).
  • We will take a pretend trip to the circus and enjoy a snack while we're there.
  • Make paper plate clowns in Art.
  • Learn the letter T in handwriting.

Tippy Toe the Tortoise visits Preschool


Caroline's Grandma is a Tulsa Zoo docent. The kids really enjoyed seeing and touching a real tortoise!

Week of October 12 - 16

Theme: Transportation

Activities for the week:
  • We will learn the letter H in handwriting.
  • Pretend to fly in an airplane in Dramatic Play.
  • Play with dump trucks, cement mixers, bulldozers and sand in the Sensory Table.
  • Observe the different ways in which objects can move (straight, round and round, zig zag) in Science.
  • Paint with cars in Art.
  • Discover ways in which we can help take care of God's creations in Religion.

Other Information:

Wednesday, October 14th - Picture retakes - send your child's packet back if you would like to have their picture retaken.
