Week of May 3 - 7

Theme: Nursery Rhymes

Activities for the week:

  • We will count Little Bo Peep's sheep in Math.
  • Use fine motor skills to fill the Muffin Man's muffin cups in the Sensory Table.
  • Visit the Beauty Shop in Dramatic Play.
  • Discover that Mary loves and cares for us as a mother loves and cares for her children in Religion and attend the May crowning Mass on Friday.
  • We will test different objects to see if they will sink or float in Jack and Jill's pail of water in Science.
  • Learn the letter Z in handwriting.
  • Play with a castle and knights in Blocks.
Other Information:

We will attend Mass on Friday with our 6th grade buddies.

Friday, May 14th - we will eat our lunch outside while we watch the 8th graders perform Shakespeare in the Park. Parents are welcome to attend.

Week of April 26 - 30

Theme: Insects

Activities for the week:
  • Learn the letter Y in handwriting.
  • Listen to Bible stories about friendship in Religion.
  • Make coffee filter butterflies in Art.
  • Practice number recognition, counting and writing numbers in Math with Bee Buddies.
  • Make butterfly life cycle bracelets in Science.
  • Practice letter recognition and beginning sounds with Busy Bees in Language.
  • Play with insect puppets in Dramatic Play.
  • Search for insects in the sand in the Sensory Table.
  • Learn some songs about insects, play a buggy syllables game, read some books and go on a nature walk during Group Time.

Other Information:

Friday, April 30th - 8th grade Teacher for a Day! - our teachers will be Rachel and Sarah. We are looking forward to a great day!!

Week of April 19 - 23

Theme: Earth Day

Activities for the week:

  • Learn the letter X in handwriting.
  • Paint pictures of nature with watercolors in Art.
  • Match and count frogs in Math.
  • Experiment with growing bean seeds inside a plastic bag and complete a plant life cycle worksheet in Science.
  • Learn the 3 R's (recycle, reduce, reuse).
  • Listen to the story of Willie the Worm and his home in the soil.
  • Explore the vegetable garden in the Sensory Table.
  • Listen to Bible stories that teach us how to live the right way in Religion.

Activities for the Week:
  • We will learn the letter W in handwriting.
  • Make construction paper flowers in Art.
  • Plant, take care of and pick flowers in the Sensory Table.
  • Count flower petals in Math.
  • Plant grass seed to make "Chia" heads in Science.
  • Visit the flower shop in Dramatic Play.
  • Learn a song about the parts of a flower during Group Time.

  • Play a counting raindrops game in Math.
  • Play with bird seed in the Sensory Table.
  • Learn about the Ten Commandments in Religion.
  • Play with babies in Dramatic Play.
