Week of November 29 - December 3

Theme: Seasons/Weather

Activities for the Week:
  • Learn the letter Q in Handwriting.
  • Make a rainy day umbrella picture in Art.
  • Experiment with borax, water and a pipe cleaner to make a snowflake in Science.
  • Count raindrops to make puddles in Math.
  • Play with Brick Blocks.
  • Begin to recognize color words by completing a Singing in the Rain coloring sheet.
  • Listen to books about weather and seasons, participate in Weather for All Seasons and draw a picture of our favorite season during Group Time.

Other Information:

Please make sure that your child has a jacket/coat every day because we will go outside unless the temperature is below freezing. Thanks!

Week of November 22 - 23

Theme: Thanksgiving

Activities for the Week:
  • Make Thanksgiving centerpieces in Art.
  • Explore different ways locks work in Science.
  • Practice counting and number recognition by completing a Hiding in the Corn sheet in Math.
  • Play with small wood blocks in the Block Center.
  • Pretend to participate in the First Thanksgiving in Dramatic Play.
  • Explore beans in the Sensory Table.
  • Listen to the "10 Days of Thanksgiving" flannel board story and complete our Thankfulness Bags during Group Time.

Week of November 15 - 19

Theme: Fall Harvest/Thanksgiving

Activities for the Week:
  • We will learn the letter O in handwriting.
  • Explore ways to thank God for all the good things we have in Religion.
  • Make dream catchers in Art.
  • Experiment with gears in Science.
  • Practice number recognition and counting by stamping turkeys in Math.
  • Play with small wood logs in Blocks.
  • Have a pretend Thanksgiving celebration in Dramatic Play.
  • Explore small foam turkey, feathers and popcorn kernels in the Sensory Table.
  • Go on a turkey hunt, play a Pilgrim game and make Thankfulness bags during Group Time.
Other Information:

Friday, November 19th - Appalachia Mass - we will not attend as a class, but feel free to bring donations. We will make sure they are included.

Wed., Nov. 24- Fri., Nov. 26 - NO SCHOOL - Thanksgiving Break

Week of November 8 - 12

Theme: Nursery Rhymes

Activities for the Week:
  • Learn the letter C in handwriting.
  • Make a surprise pie (sing a song of sixpence rhyme) in Art.
  • Practice counting and writing numbers by counting Little Bo Peep's Sheep in Math.
  • Play with knights and a castle in Blocks.
  • Visit the Beauty Shop in Dramatic Play.
  • Explore and manipulate pom poms (Muffin Man) in the Sensory Table.
  • Discover ways that we can share with one another in Religion.
  • Play a Jack Be Nimble game, act out Little Miss Muffet and make a spider snack, and listen to some Nursery Rhyme books during Group Time.

Wed., Nov. 10th - Spirit Dress/Spirit Night - CiCi's pizza- see last week's Wed. packet for more information.

Last week we made our first class book about transportation. Please take a look at it when you drop off or pick up. It is right next to the sign in sheet. The kids are very proud of their work and so am I!!
