Theme: Manners

Activities for the week:

• We will learn about God's gift of Holy Communion in Religion.
• Learn the letter D in handwriting.
• Talk about and practice our manners.
• Review Mat Man.
• Celebrate the 100th day of school on Wednesday!
• Recognize and learn to write the numbers 5 and 6 in Math.
• Use manners while playing in the Subway restaurant in Dramatic Play.
• Make 100th day hats in Art.

Week of January 19 - 22

Theme: Space

Activities for the week:

• We will learn the letter J in handwriting.
• Listen to the story of the Loaves and the Fishes in Religion. Learn that God showed his love by sharing.
• Make a constellation picture in Art.
• Explore galaxy bottles in Science.
• Count craters on the moon in Math.
• Pretend to be an astronaut and travel in a spaceship in Dramatic Play.
• Play with plastic astronauts, moon rocks and sand in the Sensory Table.

Other Information:

Wednesday, January 20th - report cards will be sent home in your child's folder. Please sign and return them.

Theme: Our Healthy Bodies

Activities for the week:

• We will discover ways that families show love for one another and thank God for the gift of family in Religion.
• Learn to recognize and write the number 5 in Math.
• In handwriting we will learn the letter S.
• We will learn how our spine works and all about healthly/unhealthly food in Science.
• In Art we will use markers, colored pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, stencils to come up with our own unique art project.
• Explore beans in the Sensory Table.
• Play with the kitchen and babies in Dramatic Play.

Other Information:

Wednesday, January 13th - End of the 1st semester.

Remember to call the school office and sign your child up for kindergarten if you haven't already done so. Kindergarten testing dates are January 30th, February 13th, February 27th and March 20th.

Activities for the week:

• Review the letters learned so far in handwriting.
• Have some pretend winter fun in Dramatic Play.
• Play with the train set in Blocks.
• Explore ice blocks and arctic animals in the Sensory Table.
• Learn that Jesus belongs to the Holy Family in Religion.
• Use snowballs to measure various objects in Math.
• Write in the snow (shaving cream) during a group time activity.
• Make footprint penguins in Art.
