Week of November 1 - 5

Theme: Transportation

Activities for the Week:
  • Review the letters we've learned so far in Handwriting.
  • Discover what All Saints Day is in Religion.
  • Make airplanes using paper towel rolls in Art.
  • Play a roll 'n stamp game to practice number recognition and counting in Math.
  • Play with small vehicles and a city streets rug in Blocks.
  • Experiment with magnets by having magnet races in Science.
  • Pretend to work or travel with the Preschool Airlines in Dramatic Play.
  • Play a transportation guessing game, listen to some stories and make a class book about transportation during Group Time.

Wed., Nov. 3rd - Access Med Flu Shots 12:00-2:00

Week of October 25 - 29

Theme: Halloween

Activities for the Week:
  • Learn the letter U in handwriting.
  • Discover ways we can care for each other as Noah cared for his family and friends in Religion.
  • Experiment with shaving cream and color mixing (red and yellow) to make a shaving cream Jack-O-Lantern in Science.
  • Use Halloween stamps to make pumpkins, bats and spiders, count them and write how many in Math.
  • Have a pretend Halloween party in Dramatic Play.
  • Hunt for Halloween items hidden in shredded black and orange paper in the Sensory Table.
  • Listen to some flannel board stories, play a Trick or Treat game, sing some Halloween songs, and practice tracing curved, straight and zig zagged lines by completing a spider worksheet during Group Time.
  • Make Halloween door hangers in Art.

Week of October 18 - 22

Theme: Pumpkins

Activities for the Week:
  • Learn the letter I in handwriting.
  • Discover ways we can take care of God's creations in Religion.
  • Learn about and make our own pumpkin life cycle in Science.
  • Count pumpkin seeds in Math.
  • Pretend to visit the pumpkin patch in Dramatic Play.
  • Use small plastic hammers and golf tees to hammer into a real pumpkin in the Sensory Table.
  • Make Q-Tip skeletons in Art.
  • Complete a dot-to-dot pumpkin, listen to some stories, and cut open a real pumpkin to see what is inside during Group Time.
Other Information:

Tues., Oct. 19th - picture retakes - please send original picture packet to school if you would like your child's picture redone

Wed., Oct. 20th - Spirit Dress/Spirit Night - corn maize 6-8pm

Sunday, Oct. 24th - Fun Day 1:00-4:00

Week of October 11 - 15

Theme: Autumn Leaves

Activities for the Week:
  • Learn the letter T in Handwriting.
  • Listen to The Creation story in Religion.
  • Make magic color scratch leaves in Art.
  • Examine various leaves with a magnifying glass in Science.
  • Practice number recognition and counting with a Leaves on the Tree game in Math.
  • Become familiar with positional words by making a "Where is the Leaf?" booklet.
  • Explore a leaf pile in the Sensory Table.
  • Read some stories during Group Time

Monday, Oct. 11th - No School - Teacher Retreat Day

Tuesday, Oct. 12th - Free Dress for those who donated to the St. Francis Fund
